The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released three guides to assist providers prepare for the transition to HIPAA Version 5010 electronic transaction standards.
Physician practices and other covered entities must comply with the new standards beginning Jan. 1 to avoid any potential disruption in cash flow and interruption in their electronic transactions such as insurance eligibility verification and remittance advice.
